Luckily, I’ve got a summer hair hack that not only keeps me fresh but also makes me feel like a total beach babe. Rocking box braids as a protective style! Bonus points for color and extra length.
Summer Uniform of the Day: a fun purple bikini by Oysho. Paired with a boho-chic white button-up shirt by Aerie. No makeup vibes, so we completed the look with these oh-so-glamorous Prada sunglasses. And onto the star of the show – my beautiful, extra-long, blonde box braids!
Braids! The official hairstyle of choice for many black women in the summer. Not only are they an absolute fashion statement, but they serve a practical purpose too. Box braids are an excellent protective style during this relentless heat wave. Why choose a protective braid style in the summer?
